After an effective 40 year business career for which the Lord gets the credit, He saw fit to bring me to DTS for the equipping in teaching and ministry for the Saints. During these years my wife Lee and I grew from the excitement and difficulties of dealing with the secular world in the sphere of business endeavors, to the reality of the trials for the cause of Christ that must become the sphere of the Christian in this fallen world. We understand so much more now the need for the necessary encouragement, love and assistance found only in the Body of Christ. During this period my wife Lee and I have been allowed to mature from being participants in teaching and training ministries, to being active teachers in adult education fellowship programs and in Graham’s gaining experience in fill-in preaching duties. Out of these experiences the Lord has taken Graham through the process of formal seminary training, in preparation for presenting the Word to the Body of Christ. During this period of time God has also allowed Lee and Graham the joys of being parents to three sons, Joshua, Benjamin, and Samuel, who all received Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. We now have the added pleasure of being the grandparents of five grandchildren: Violet, Iris, Josiah, Eve, and Isaac.
The biggest desire that presses upon my heart is for the maturation and edification of the Body of Christ. There is so much adverse to this need, found in the pressures of a fallen world that bear down heavily upon the believer in Christ living in our modern western civilization. There is a specific area in this battle zone that grips me: the involvement in Intergenerational Ministry of the older, more experienced and spiritually mature men with the upcoming generation of men, generally the age group of 15 to 35. Here in this age cohort are key spiritual battles being fought that need the gifts of wisdom, knowledge, and understanding that the older generation of Christ, led by the Holy Spirit, should bequeath to the next spiritual generation.
Lee and I are enthusiastic about where the Lord has positioned us in contributing our gifts to this battle, and that our background of growth and experience and training as the Lord has allowed can be used by Him for the good and betterment of the Church body.
In all this is my life verse central: “Those who are wise will shine as bright as the sky, and those who lead many to righteousness will shine like the stars forever.” (Daniel 12:3).
May the Lord bless these efforts for His reputation and the edification and maturation of His saints. May the Lord lead us and guide us in this ministry of the Word to His church. May His word be profitable to all the Body of Christ. May the Body mature and grow in Godliness, and His kingdom be blessed and brought to fulfillment through all His works in all His servants within the Body.
